The Ninth Wave

Inspired by the vivid images depicted in the second half of Kate Bush's 1985 record "Hounds of Love" I translate this audio epic into visual theatrical spectacle. Environments and characters are rendered through a myriad of animation techniques including live drawing, rotoscoping, cell, 3D, and 2½D. Through rear projection I interact with animated composited environments and characters to tell an epic narrative of being stranded at sea, falling under, and the vivid dreams/hallucinations that ensure. And then the journey from this world to the next (and back).
